About Bless This Child Designs
Bless This Child Designs was divinely inspired by the fabulous fabric lines available to quilt shops.
How was Bless This Child Designs Started?
With a background in early childhood education and a love for classic songs, nursery rhymes, and fairy tales, a line of interactive children's quilts was brought to life by Bless This Child Designs owner, Shannon Klahr. The more senses a child uses in learning, the more that knowledge is retained in the brain structure. That's the theory that makes Bless This Child Designs different than other children's quilt patterns. Language, music, math, science, and small manipulative skills will all be enhanced in an interactive and fun way with when these unique patterns are sewn and brought to life.
What sets Bless This Child Designs apart from other quilt pattern companies and other businesses?
In addition to the educational value behind each interactive quilt design we create, Bless This Child Designs is different from many businesses in another way. Part of net proceeds go to various organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Heifer International, and environmentally friendly organizations such as Sierra Club and Environmental Defense. Every person has a basic human right to food and shelter. Without protecting the natural gifts God gave us to help us survive, our food and shelter will continue to be wiped out at record pace. It's time to step it up, and Bless This Child Designs plans on being part of the solution.
With that said, we do our best to buy our supplies from eco-friendly suppliers. We also try to buy as many recycled products as possible. Co-op America produces a book called the National Green Pages, which lists various types of business who are also trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. This is a great source for us. You will also note that our patterns are free of the plastic packaging that most patterns come in. We refuse to use plastic in our products. We are still trying to determine the most eco-friendly and efficient way to market our products, so please bear with us. We are open to suggestions.
